Strada Benjamin Franklin 1-3, București, Romania

Most of the Romanian people consider Athenaeum the symbol of Bucharest and it surely is an architectural gem. It was built at the end of the nineteenth century and it is a sanctuary of the Romanian culture. The Big Hall and its dome, made by Albert Galleron, will leave you speechless. Mind our words! We will not tell you too much because we do not want to spoil the surprise for you.

We will only tell you that here were held remarkable concerts of some of the biggest bandmasters and soloists of the world and that it was the house of George Enescu, the best known romanian composer. The square in front of the Athenaeum has its name.
